Municipal Clerk
(Permanent, Part-Time)
The Municipality of the Township of Frontenac Islands is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Municipal Clerk. Currently, the Township considers the position to be a permanent part-time at a minimum of twenty-one (21) hour per week, ideal for someone looking for a reduced work week.
Reporting to the CAO, as part of the Management team, the position will perform all statutory duties in accordance with the Municipal Act and other applicable legislation by providing effective leadership and direction in the planning, coordination, and management of the Clerk’s Office. The Clerk provides guidance, support and legislative advice to the Senior Management Team, acts as parliamentarian to Township Council and coordinates the secretariat functions for all Council and Standing Committee meetings. This position will also include some administrative assistance duties.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years related progressive experience as a Municipal Clerk or Deputy Clerk, completed the AMCTO Municipal Administration Program and have obtained a certification as an Accredited Ontario Municipal Clerk (AMCTO).
