Community Grants
The Township recognizes the valuable contributions of community organizations and volunteer groups that help make Frontenac Islands a great place to live. We are proud to support these groups through our community grants.
At the regular meeting of Council on October 14, 2025, Council approved the following community grants for the 2026 calendar year:
- $25,755 - Wolfe Island
- $9,690 - Howe Island
A total of $35,445 was approved to be distributed amongst community groups.
Who can apply?
To receive a community grant, community groups should meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Not-for-profit (including unincorporated groups) or registered charitable organization
- Operate within the geographic boundaries of the Township of Frontenac Islands
- Offer services and or hold events that benefit the community of Frontenac Islands.
How to apply?
Community groups will have until November 14, 2025 to submit a funding request letter to the Treasurer (email) to be considered as part of the 2026 Budget discussions.
The following information must be included in the letter:
- Applicant Information – Name of group, contact information, mailing address.
- Community Group Information – Define the general purpose and/or mission of the group and how it has a positive impact on the Frontenac Island Community
- Specific Funding Request – Funds must be requested for a specific purpose and be utilized in the 2026 calendar year.
- Budget - Community groups must attach to their letter a budget identifying all expected expenditures detailing specifically how the funds will be utilized.
Community Groups have the option to present their request to Council during one of the budget scheduled budget meetings late November and early December. This is optional and is not a requirement for groups to receive funding.
