2026 Community Grants

Community Grants Available for 2026
At its regular meeting held on October 14, 2025, Frontenac Islands Council approved the allocation of $35,445 in community grant funding for the 2026 calendar year.
Funding will be distributed as follows:
- $25,755 available for Wolfe Island community groups
- $9,690 available for Howe Island community groups
These funds support local organizations and volunteer groups that provide valuable programs, services, and events enhancing life within the Township of Frontenac Islands.
Who Can Apply
To be eligible for a community grant, applicants should be:
- Not-for-profit (including unincorporated groups) or a registered charitable organization
- Operate within the geographic boundaries of the Township of Frontenac Islands
- Offer services or host events that benefit the Frontenac Islands community
How to Apply
Community groups are invited to submit a funding request letter by November 14, 2025, to Jesse Collins, Treasurer via email at jcollins@frontenacislands.ca
Your application letter should include:
- Applicant Information: Group name, contact information, and mailing address
- Community Group Information: Purpose and/or mission of the group, and how it positively impacts the Frontenac Islands community
- Specific Funding Request: Funds must be requested for a specific purpose to be used in 2026
- Budget: A detailed budget identifying all expected expenditures and how the requested funds will be utilized
Council Presentations
Although not required, community groups are encouraged to present their funding requests directly to Council during the Township’s 2026 Budget Meetings:
- Wolfe Island: November 24, 2025
- Howe Island: December 2, 2025
Presentations will be limited to 5 minutes, followed by a brief question period with members of Council. Groups interested in presenting should indicate their request in their application letter and contact the Treasurer to confirm a time slot.
Awarding of Community Grants
Council will review all submitted applications and presentations as part of the 2026 Budget meeting deliberations. Approved community grants will be announced following completion of the 2026 budget process.
Final Reporting
Successful applicants will be required to submit a final report within 60 days of project completion or funds being used. The report should outline how funds were spent and the impact achieved. Any unspent funds must be returned to the Township. Further reporting details will be provided to successful recipients.
