Effective immediately, the Township of Frontenac Islands has lifted the fire ban that was previously in effect across the Township. Recent improvements in weather and moisture conditions have reduced the risk of fire, allowing open-air burning to safely resume.
Residents and visitors are reminded that while the ban has been lifted, all open-air burning must comply with Township regulations. This includes:
Never leaving a fire unattended.
Keeping a water source or extinguishing tools nearby.
Ensuring fires are fully out before leaving the area.
Your smoke from burning can not cause discomfort to those around you.
The Township thanks residents and visitors for their cooperation during the ban period and encourages continued safe burning practices.
For more information about burning regulations, please visit the Township website or contact the municipal office.
