- Starting January 2026 (or earlier), Howe Island will transition to a curbside pickup system for household recyclables. Please place your recycling at the same location where you set out your garbage.
- Each homeowner will receive two recycling bins at no cost. Please sign for and pick up your Blue Boxes as soon as possible at the Howe Island Municipal Office, located at 50 Baseline Road, during regular office hours.
Recycling bins will also be available for pickup on Saturday, October 25, 2025, and Saturday, November 8, 2025, between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon at 50 Baseline Road.
- Once the program is implemented, collection will take place weekly. The start date and time for Howe Island’s curbside pickup will be announced.
- In the meantime, please continue to utilize the Howe Island depot operation during the set times and until further notice.
Ontario Regulation (O. Reg. 391/21) sets the conditions of recycling across the Province of Ontario.
