We encourage a two-bag limit. You will be provided with 104 tags picked up at the Municipal Office at 50 Baseline Road, Howe Island. If you use your allotment of tags, you will be required to purchase additional tags.
A tag must be affixed to each bag. Bags are not to exceed 30 pounds.
Garbage is picked up every Monday morning and must be put out by 7:00 am. Statutory Holiday Monday pick ups will occur the next day (Tuesday).
Steel and Electronics Bin
Steel and electronics can be placed in the bins located at 50 Baseline Road by calling the Municipal Office for an appointment.
Disposal of Household Hazardous Waste
Site located at 70 Lappan’s Lane, in the City of Kingston. The fee to use this disposal site is $42.96 plus HST for 2025 per vehicle to be paid by the owner of the hazardous material. The Township will not be responsible for payment for any hazardous waste delivered to the site other than those which are the property of the municipality and are delivered by Township staff. Site hours: Beginning of April to end of November – Thursdays 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and the second Saturday of each month 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Hazardous waste accepted at the site:
- paint, stains
- motor oil, grease
- car batteries
- household batteries
- propane cylinders
- acid/caustics (detergents, drain cleaner)
- pesticides/herbicides (fertilizer)
- medications
- sharps/needles
- solvents (gas, varsol)
