Notice: Reduced Loads on Township Roads in Effect from March 3 to April 30, 2026.
Help protect our roads!
All roads within the Township of Frontenac Islands are subject to restricted loads effective March 3, 2026 to April 30, 2026.
No motor vehicle or trailer shall have a load exceeding 5,000 kg per axle on designated roads as per Section 122 of the Highway Traffic Act.
Signs will be posted.

Howe Island County operated ferry docks rehabilitation project
The County of Frontenac received an update today (February 27, 2026) about projected ferry service interruptions related to the Howe Island County ferry docks rehabilitation project.
By way of reminders:
- The first full-closure is scheduled for this Monday, March 2 from 10 pm to Thursday March 5 at 2 pm.
- This work involves the rehabilitation of the ferry docks at both the island and mainland sides.
