By way of reminders about the projected ferry service interruptions related to the Howe Island County ferry docks rehabilitation project:
- The next full closure is scheduled for this Monday, March 30 from 10 pm to Thursday April 2 at 2 pm.
- This work involves the rehabilitation of the ferry docks at both the island and mainland sides.
- Construction is scheduled to be completed by April 30, 2026.

Here are some specific strategies and resources residents of Frontenac Islands can consider preparing for potential ferry delays due to drifting ice:
1. Developing a Comprehensive Emergency Plan
- Spring is getting closer, and the ICE will begin to DRIFT. This drifting ice can impact the ferry operations.
- Give yourself lots of time to get to your destination if you are traveling. Ice conditions can change quickly and thus impacting on ferry operations.
