Howe Island Recycling Changes

Notice
- Starting January 2026 (or earlier), Howe Island will transition to a curbside pickup system for household recyclables. Please place your recycling at the same location where you set out your garbage.
- Each homeowner will receive two recycling bins at no cost. Please sign for and pick up your Blue Boxes as soon as possible at the Howe Island Municipal Office, located at 50 Baseline Road, during regular office hours.
Recycling bins will also be available for pickup on Saturday, October 25, 2025, and

Level 3 Low Water Condition Extended for the Cataraqui Region

Kingston ON – Earlier today, Cataraqui Conservation and the Low Water Response Team extended the Level 3 Low Water Condition for the Cataraqui Region due to continued dry conditions and lack of rainfall.

Community Grants Available for 2026
At its regular meeting held on October 14, 2025, Frontenac Islands Council approved the allocation of $35,445 in community grant funding for the 2026 calendar year.
Funding will be distributed as follows:
- $25,755 available for Wolfe Island community groups
- $9,690 available for Howe Island community groups
