Level 3 Low Water Condition Confirmed for Cataraqui Region

Cataraqui Conservation and the Low Water Response Team have elevated the low water condition today from Level 1 to Level 3 for the Cataraqui Watershed due to very dry conditions and lack of rain fall.

Fire Ban Lifted

Effective immediately, the Township of Frontenac Islands has lifted the fire ban that was previously in effect across the Township. Recent improvements in weather and moisture conditions have reduced the risk of fire, allowing open-air burning to safely resume.
Residents and visitors are reminded that while the ban has been lifted, all open-air burning must comply with Township regulations. This includes:

Never leaving a fire unattended.

Keeping a water source or extinguishing tools nearby.

Public Notice – Road Resurfacing Work
Please be advised that road resurfacing activities commenced on August 19, 2025, along Road 96. The scope of work covers approximately 10 km, beginning in the vicinity of the 9th Line and continuing eastward.
During this period, motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians are reminded to exercise extreme caution when traveling through the construction zone, as sections of the roadway may be uneven and subject to active construction.
